Development of packaging

After reviewing the packaging I designed, I felt unlike that name that stands out, the packaging was very boring as well as being very similiar to existing battery brands, something I was not aiming for. There for I developed the idea, and came up with the idea of having a battery dispenser.

The idea of this was also to relate to my concept of power. You press a button of how many of that battery you want, and then it will wrap them up and they will shoot out, giving that sense of 'OOMPH'.

Design ideas for the individual battery are below.... each one will be individual in a see-through tube...

The dispenser....

battery packaging design

Here are some battery packaging designs. I experimented with colour, layout and scale.

When experimenting with colour, I thought of the idea of colour coding each battery with a corresponding colour. There would be within the brand 4 different types of batteries... AAA  AA  C  & 9V...

Experimentation for the other battery types...

battery Logo Designs - OOMPH

After re thinking a lot about what I could name this battery brand I came with with the name OOMPH. I wanted it to stand out and be very different to other battery brands, add a little bit of quirkiness to it. The concept behind the name is adding that more oomph to your power, and it has that little more oomph to other battery brands. The slogan is ' Add that little more OOMPH to your daily life.'

My initial logo ideas are below...

I then transfered this logo on to a battery to see what it looked like....

I feel after evaluating what the logo looks like on the battery, it was not working, so i decidedto develop the logo further.

The idea for the logos below was to use the power symbol as an o and also trying it without using the power symbol.

I then tried using these logos on the battery to see what they looked liked...

Even though I felt some of these were working a lot better than my initial logo designs, I developed further.

My final logo design

Battery Logo Designs - Alectirc

When thinking of a name of the battery, it was a huge challenge. One of the first names I came up with with was Alectric. The idea behind this was the battery gives electricity, and the 'A' represents the alkaline battery.
Some logo designs below....

The idea was then to take this idea and make it relate to the electric theme alot more. I did this by giving the type a neon light theme to it.

After reviewing different colours I felt that the idea wasn't going anywhere The reasons being that when thinking of the word electric, it does not really say battery, it relates more to plugs and eletctrical products.

Help Make the World Mini- 7 continents of the world- Air Freshners

After designing the flyers, I felt that I could make the tone of voice relate more to the topic of cars. In order to do this, instead of having just simple flyers, I felt it was apt to use these as air freshners and car stickers....

As well as using the continet outlines as airfreshners ( like the example of above), I also felt I would design an airfreshner of a blank mini. The idea behind this is that with each continent the person will get a blank mini also, which they can use it as an airfreshner or they can design their unique mini for that continent and then send it off to enter the competition. design ideas below....

Help Make the World Mini- 7 continents of the world- Flyers

Now was the development of the flyers for each continent. The idea is to use the shape of each continet as the flyer, each being double sided, ad like the poster, have a a blank mini driving out of the continent.

Layout ideas can be seen below for each continent....

Below are the final design for the front and back of the flyers....
