The 5 circles of london- stamps

The designs I did previous but now in the stamp layout....

The 2012 London Olympic logo

The London 2012 logo is made up of 5 shapes that make up 2012, as you can see on my context blog. I thought keeping with a similar theme, why not combine the iconic Olympics logo with the London 2012 logo, and instead of having circles to make up the 5 hoops, use the shapes from the London Logo.  Also another idea was to use the jagged 'O' shape to make up the iconic logo. Both can be seen below....

Exploration of how each shape could fit within the stamp frame, and colour combination.......

Final stamp ideas (colour combinations)......

And using just the jagged 'O' shape, but i don't feel this works as well as the previous idea above.

The 5 Balls

After vectorising the balls, I then decided to see how these would look when arranged like the iconic Olympic logo, seen below.

And then placed this within a stamp layout to see what it would look like.

As well as having the the 6th stamp of them all together, an idea is to have 5 other stamps including one of each ball. Different scale and layouts can be seen below.

After looking back at these, I felt that they were not quite working. Even though I tried linking each ball to a individual Olympic colour by changing the colour of the queens head and the 1st, as you can see on the bottom row above, I felt the need to develop the balls to correspond to  each colour. These can be seen below.

Different colour experimentation on the stamp layout .......

And then each ball on an individual stamp.....

Composition and colour combinations.......

The 5 Olympics Balls

Keeping with a similar theme of using the iconic 5 circle Olympics logo, another idea was using iconic balls that are used with in the olympics. After researching many circles involved within the olympics, below are vectorised images i drew up on illustrator of the 5 chosen balls.
